St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: The Government of Antigua and Barbuda during its weekly meeting held on Saturday 24th October, acknowledged the contributions to the development of Antigua and Barbuda by Senator Millicent Percival who passed away on Friday 23rd October.
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne and Chairman of Cabinet said “Antigua and Barbuda has lost a great daughter of the soil whose life was marked by a desire to serve others and contribute to building a proud and successful nation. Her life’s work, based on very high ethical standards, respect, responsibility, caring and citizenship set her apart as a woman of unquestionable character. Her work as Senate President from 1994 to 2004, her community service as the executor of the estate of Regional Gordon, and her work as a leading member within the women’s groups of the Antigua Trades and Labour Union and the Antigua Labour Party were exemplary.”
Cabinet agreed that Senator Millicent Percival will be accorded an Official Funeral for her contributions to Antigua and Barbuda. The Cabinet extend condolences to her children and extended family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
