New Ambassador for Iraq

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: Earlier this week, in a brief ceremony at the Government House, Government General, His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, presented an instrument of appointment to Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to Iraq.

The new ambassador, His Excellency Ahmed Abbas Oleiwy Esquire, replaces Antigua and Barbuda’s former Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Walid Taha.

In the discussions following the ceremony, Ambassador Oleiwy acknowledged the Governor General’s congratulatory remarks and gave his commitment to represent Antigua and Barbuda to the best of his ability and shared that it was his intention to officially open the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda in Iraq soon after his return.
